Anyone a blacksmith?

You see how hard they work and how smart those folks are. Looks like real team work and skilled workers not to get hit by that hot iron or the drop hammer. I never could find the guy working the drop hammer. Pretty crude set up but seemed to get the job done.

I'd settle for Big Blue on Forged in Fire. All my metal moving is with my right arm and it doesn't move metal like it use to.

No, that's straight blacksmithing, forging work. The hammer operator operator was behind the camera. Early on in the video you can see one guy signal to him. He'll be operating a winch to lift and release the hammer. Pretty nice setup.

You know how much metal to start with based on the weight of what you want to finish with, plus the punch plug removed. Then when you get it forged to the proper dimensions you have the right diameter.

It's always a pleasure to watch skilled craftsmen at work. Everybody appears to know the work at hand, so everything progresses at a good pace and nobody gets hurt. Shows you don't necessarily need fancy equipment to get quality results.
