Can anybody identify what these brackets and copper nails are for?

The brackets have been hanging on the wall in the shed for a long time, never could figure out what they are. Found a bottle of the nails in the old chicken coop. At first I thought a couple were just bent but they're all like that.

Straightening nails is about every little farm kid's first job. Some long forgotten relative of yours failed at the job. lol
No idea what the big thingies in the firs picture are. But at least you have a set of them!

Hi, if the copper nails have blunt ends on them then maybe they are harness rivets? There were copper washers to go over the pointy end of rivet and then there was a steel tool with a hole in it that fit over the top of the washer.

See link.

The brackets are off a horse drawn implement and serve as a brace for the pole for steering.

Coppers always been worth something. Maybe the nails date from someone trying to save up a few cents worth for something.

Copper "nails" look like copper rivets to me. Used for harness and canvass aprons for grain harvesting machines. Used with a washer on pointy end. No Idea about bent ends however.

Very likely. One of Dad's manure spreaders was a horse-drawn NI converted to drawbar. Also have a hay wagon with center pivot steering that I don't use because the spindles are worn. I'll look at it.

One bracket brace from bolster to hound on wagon, other bracket front axle to toung brace. Skein hubs are supposed to be loose. So is it wore away on the bottom? Have had like that.
