12 ply tires

I've been looking for a decent used set of 13.6 or 15.5X38 tires for a couple of years now. They aren't easy to find.
I talked to a guy who says he has a set of 13.6s that he would let go fairly reasonable. But they are 12 ply - I think off a sprayer.
But in addition to being a bear to mount I'm wondering if they would be too stiff for normal, half fast tractor use.
What would you guys advise on something like this?
I would be putting them on a Ford 4200.
Thanks.

My information comes from having a pair of 12 tires on a 105 HP mF. They did not flex enough and the tractor did not have good pulling capabilities as another tractor with regular tires on it. They wore good because it sat more than the one that would pull better when working ground.

My cousin switched a used set of 12 ply tires from a sprayer to a Farmall M. He said it went pretty well but he's a good sized man and has a lot of height and weight for leverage.

The tractor doesn't get used very much so I can't say how well they ride. It seems like they could be a stiff ride.

As a farm tire pro, you are right. The 12 ply sprayer tires are tough as heck to get on those rims. Easiest to put on if the rims are still on the tractor.
