We were setting having a quiet evening in our lift chairs with each holding a laptop when out of the blue she says, I am so proud of you! I answered back, come to think about it I am tired of you to.

Man in church whispers to his wife, I just left a silent phart. What should I do. She replied Get a new battery in your hearing aid!

Surely you have some friends with a couple hearing aids laying in the dresser drawer. You could try them out for a while. OH, that's right, each person is selectively fit just for his type of problem hearing. Right. That's why they are laying in the dresser drawer.

I've had my Phonak aids for about a year.
They work great and unless I being attention
to them most people don't know I have them
on. What I like most is that the tv went
from max volume to about 25% and when I
listen to music I can't believe how much I
missed before. They took very little time to
get used to as well. From day one I almost
didn't know they were there. Took about a
month to get used to hearing all the noise I
never heard before.

My wife wears hearing aids, I don't. As of a hearing test at the VA last spring, I don't need them.

However--my wife gets feedback through hers when she talks that causes her to talk more softly than normal. Then if I ask her to repeat herself, she yells at me that I have a hearing problem. She doesn't believe the VA's test.

If you aren't already, if you're a veteran eligible for membership in the American Legion, check their discount.

My wife's aids would have been $7600, and after the Legion's discount they were $4300. That's when I decided the annual membership dues were a good investment.

There's not a married man that does not need a hearing aid (at least that's what the boss says)

I think it's called selective hearing.

Teenagers are often afflicted with the same issue.

I wear hearing aids since the day I "thought" my wife said she wanted to hear some Cheap Trick! This was at dinner time and after looking for a Cheap Trick CD she said I hadn't answered her question. I told her I was looking, she actually had asked me if I wanted a Cheese Crisp. End of story.

(quoted from post at 10:29:35 09/27/17) I am thinking of getting a set. Any suggestions?

Gene, get your hearing tested then if needed get the best that you can afford.

Dick,if my wife would quit mumbling,I could hear her.My grandchildren has never learned to talk and they have never learned to talk on a phone

My wife always insists on talking to me after she has left the room or facing in another direction. I know I need a hearing aid but either people don't say anything anymore worth listening to or I've heard it all before.

Jon, when I got my Phonak hearing aids, I could hear all kinds of new strange noises in my old tractors. I thought they were crapping out on me. Turns out they don't make all those noises if I don't have my hearing aids in.............

My father had a behind the ear aid, it had a little volume control. I remember seeing him turn the aid down when Mom started going on & on about something. good old days, joe

"I remember seeing him turn the aid down when Mom started going on & on"

My grandfather did that too, and made a big production out of it
with a big...well...a great big grin on his face while facing her directly.
It only escalated from there. LOL

My youngest daughter was playing high school softball and one of the girls mother had a LOUD MOUTH she mouthed off at the umps on about every call after the game I was walking out with the ump behind the plate I mentioned to him I guess you got an ear full from LOUD MOUTH he laughed and said nope she didn't see me turn my hearing aids off.
