have a duetz 6006 with pto problems will not engage do not have a lot of experience with this tractor no manuels etc any help please

Deutz D6006 tractors come with two types of pto engagement.

One is a live two stage clutch with the floor mounted lever and engagement/disengagement by pushing the clutch pedal fully to the floor then moving the small lever on the floor forward or back. The clutch pedal is then released to resume operation.

The second type of pto clutch came as an option. This is an independent pto clutch with a small lever on the left floor and a larger lever on the left next to the steering column.

You more than likely have the two stage clutch which was standard. How have you tried to engage it? Sometimes the disc gets stuck and has to be broken loose. If it is stuck I think the gear will grind when you try to throw the floor mounted lever. It can be engaged/disengaged with the engine stopped in order to see if it works. I think you still have to push the clutch pedal to the floor even with the engine stopped. There are certain no-nos to not do to free the pto clutch (don't ask) just explain what you have tried.

The other possibility is that the pto clutch needs adjustment or is slipping so badly it won't turn.
