What causes my computer to go back two or three pages when I intend to go back to previous page?

I doesn't do this every time, maybe 1 out of three.

I have a mouse button that is doing that now. If I barely touch it then it works properly but if I give it a "normal" push it often goes back 3 pages. New mouse on order.

Don't know,mine even does it on Windows 10 fairly often. Doesn't matter,here,Craigslist,local newspaper site,seems to happen randomly everywhere.

Only time I've had that problem is when I had a bad mouse. Mine would send send multiple clicks if I didn't just do a real quick tap. New mouse always cured it.

If, by chance, you still have a mouse with the roller ball in it... open the compartment where the ball is, drop the ball out and clean it with a dry cloth. In the past, I had a "mouse gone wild" like that, and my brother (who is a college educated computer geek), told me to clean the ball in the mouse - and it worked great after cleaning it.

If you have a laser mouse - then this is not helpful information.

I just purchased a Logitech brand with the model name -- Anywhere MX mouse (about 40 bucks) it is wireless and has superb feel and button touch. The roller is either
segmented or free to roll smoothly depending on the program. Recommended By me. Jim

Looks like I need a new mouse.
I did as suggested, lightly click, and it hasn't jumped back a single time.
I have a wireless [b:bb57feaeed]Logitech[/b:bb57feaeed] mouse.

Try the mouse setting in control panel. Wheel speed etc.
