Happy Birthday Dad....

Two dates easy to remember, 9-11--my Dads birthday, and 8-8-88--the day he died. Took him a bouquet of flowers this morning--"corn tassels off of the ground he used to farm", his grandson farms it now. He would be proud! I usually take two corn plants when they are about two foot tall and plant them by His and Moms stone and water them all summer but for some reason I did not get it done this year. Time flies!---Tee

Good job. I'm sure he would like it. After my older brother passed away, I brought some dirt from his farm's cow yard, Mom and Dad's old farm, and filled in his grave site. That reminds me, his foot stone from military is in need of some fill. 9-11-36 easy for me. Mom said it was raining, the junk man came and I showed up.

Very fitting. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think back about my dad. Especially this time of the year when I, like he, are in the firewood cutting mode. I like working hours in the woods and take time to just stop, shut off the equipment, and enjoy mother natures tranquility, and bounty. I'm sure you and your dad have also taken time to sit back and count your blessings.

My dad will be 71 thursday, hope I can do half as much as him at that age. Every Sunday evening he drives to the cemetery and visits moms grave.
