Anybody heard a number yet of how many tractors crossed the Mackinac Bridge Friday? Two guys from the neighborhood must have gone. Troy is on the board of our local club. I saw two of his semis go by about noon yesterday with 4 tractors on each one. I went up to my son's house about three and met Mike coming from Troy's with his Super H.
 
I made it across for my 7th time. 1466 made it across the bridge was the number wrote on the board at their swag tent.
 
Wow,I'd heard there was talk of cutting it off a 1500 due to space,time and logistics.
 
Just got back home Sunday afternoon, 435 miles. Hauled the tractor to Owosso and stayed there labor day. Switched the tractor to the trailer hitch, then loaded the pickup on the trailer. Then on Tuesday left the lot early and drove the outfit to the farm east of Laingsburg MI to meet the other 12 tractor drivers for the 126 mile trip to Houghton Lake where we spent the night. Wednesday we drove 88 miles to Indian River and spent the night there. Finished the drive Thursday morning to the Mackinac staging area, 34 miles. Just before we turned into the staging lot my 560 diesel GPS turned over 1,400 miles for the summer. Trip across the bridge Friday morning was MUCH cooler than last year, about 50 degrees without the wind chill. Already thinking about doing it again next year..
 
We went up with intentions of scoping it out this year and doing it next. Don't think I can do it. I can with a vehicle, but it's 10 and 2 looking straight ahead at traffic speed. Don't think I could do it at 10mph sitting up a few feet higher on the outside edge looking over it.
 
I was wondering too. Talked to Gale Wednesday, he was headed
up Thursday morning. He said he had 1600 and some "planned".
Not everyone who plans can make it, obviously. Stuff comes up.
