1953 Super H. Total cost of this restoration was listed at $2,000 by the student.

Technically, that is a 1954 Super H. Live hydraulic, battery box seat base. I'd be curious what the serial number is. Nice tractor. Young man did a nice job. Wish $2000 would make my '54 Super H look that nice. The four new tires used up most of that $2000.

"The four new tires used up most of that $2000."
Nope. Carlisle Tire will give away a set of front and rear tractor tires to most FFA students who apply for them. There is a lot of paper work to it though. The student MUST be an FFA or 4H member. The application must be entered by the high school FFA instructor or 4H instructor. There is a somewhat long application that must be filled out by the student that states what the student will be doing with this tractor after the tires are installed. Notice the "funny" tread on this tractor, that looks like the tread made 70 years ago? Carlisle makes these for parade or road tractors so the ride is smoother and they wear better. They are not really made for field work.
How do I know this? My kid got a set about two years ago, delivered to the high school FFA department by UPS about three days after the application was placed by the high school ag instructor. Kudos to Carlisle Tires.
As for the exact year of the tractor, either I wrote it down wrong, or the kid wrong it down incorrectly on his write-up sheet. I'm not an IH expert...at all.

The rear tires are special made by TITAN for tractor rides as the center bar makes for a smoother ride and are given to FFA people.

TITAN TIRES in Des Moines IOWA came up with that tire couple yrs ago and i doubt very much knowing them they would let or put anything else on their tires so where this CARLISLE thing is interesting. This yrs they even had a pink color one.

Whats "class 300" ? Is there a class of entries for students? as opposed to the general public? If I restore one the set of tires would cost me $1400.00 ....doesn't seem quite fair.

You're right. I did not look at the tires that close and Carlisle was typed in by me instead of Titan. I guess I had a brain f*rt.
My son did get a set a couple of years ago and I should have remembered the brand.

It's Titan, not Carlisle. My keyboard was engaged and my brain was not. My apologies to Titan, as I think it's a good program.

Those tires are made by Titan and made only once a year and those tires don't cost FFA clubs that much.

Well, all that means is If I bought four new Titan tires for My Super H I'd pay for some of Those 4 new tires too! No such thing as a Free Lunch.

I'd by Firestones anyhow.

And it's still a nice tractor. Of the five, It's the ONLY one I'd want.

My son restored this tractor. Serial number is 20911 which according to tractordata.com makes it a late 1953. We are no way experts so had to rely on the Internet to determine the model year.

The tires are Titan as part of their FFA grant program and are not figured into the $2000 cost.

Congratulations to all the students on their restoration projects. They all were outstanding.
