You asked on a post I made about a Real Estate Agent question, what I planned on doing after I sell out.

My parents have passed away so there is nothing keeping me here. Eastern Kentucky is depressing and dead. People just sitting around waiting for the coal mines to open back up.

I'm just gonna buy a camper and take off. I've driven around the country a few times. Just drive around until I see someplace I might like.

Sounds like it might be a fun adventure. Too bad Kentucky is depressing like that. Obviously I'm not from there, but right now I'm setting in Lexington Tn, and the trip through Kentucky was my favorite part. It's very beautiful country. Whatever you decide to do, have fun with it, might as well enjoy yourself

Funny thing Greg , there are days , and more this summer than ever before , that my wife and I have thought of doing the same kind of thing. Naturally we would have to find a place to settle in Canada, as we are Canadian.. In what little I have traveled , the farther west that I go the better I like it . Now in saying that , I haven't been farther than the mid west, but the lower population density , and slower pace of life , truly appealed to me. And the space , the wide open space. Here in East Central Ontario , were I live , we are all cheek to jowl like a pen of hogs. Too many people , and more coming every day.

I don't blame you a bit. The only thing keeping me where I am is family ties. If not for those,I'd be out'a here.

JD Seller- I could throw a rock and hit West Virginia. LOL

IIRC, you had Kin in Rowan County (Morehead) area.

RBoots- I live in the middle of the "Oxy Triangle", now the druggies have moved on to Heroin, Crack and Meth.

To support their habit means they gotta steal. I've caught them cutting the power cord off the back of a coffee maker to get the little bit of copper in the cord.

On the other end of the spectrum, I know 'well-to-do' people that will steal the coins off a dead persons eyes...(deceased can't pay for the ride across Styx).

Small town B.C. is great so long as you're not to far from a larger center to go for a candle light dinner once in a while.

Have a great time and if it looks fun or interesting,do it. I've always said that I'm the kind of guy who'd drive three hours out of my way to see the worlds largest ball of mud. lol

LOL. That reminds me of something I did in 1989.....here in E. KY., I worked with a lady that grew up on a Hopi Reservation in Tuba City, Arizona. She always talked about how good the 'Tuba City' Truck Stop could make a Navajo Taco.

I had never heard of a Navajo taco, much less had I ever tasted one. So, I just got in my car and drove from E. KY. to the Tuba City Az. truck stop. Ordered the Navajo taco, talked to a few waitresses that knew the lady I worked with. Then, I drove back home.

BTW, the Navajo taco was okay.
