Mahindra Tractors

I went to the NH dealer today for a part and they are now selling Mahindra tractors also. This is
the NH third dealer that I saw selling them. Is NH somehow connected with Mahindra. They also have
one of the biggest NH tractors I have ever seen sitting front. It has a blade on it that has to be
8 to 10 foot tall

I understand that Mahindra sales have been pretty good lately so the dealer is probably trying to broaden his line and give customers a choice. Mahindra has been more aggressive in expanding dealerships, there are two within 15 miles of me. I've never heard of any corporate linkage, other than they both might use some of the same mfgs. to build some of their tractors.

I was over the one Ford dealer day and they have then also.Talk with the owner a little and he said sometime it will talk a month or so to get in a Ford sometimes that a buyer wants usually he can have a Mahindra in a week or less most of the time that was the biggest selling point for him.

I have had my Mahindra 4550 4WD with FEL for almost 2 years and only had one minor issue with a sensor.

I would buy another one. Something might happen in the future that could change my mind but for now all is good.

With New Holland that dealer better be really pushing to sell NH's instead of Mahindra's. With NH you have to sell a set amount of NH's each year, or they will drop the dealer like a hot potato (this from my brother who worked at a NH dealer).

NH/ New Holland is part of a confused group of old tractors and equipment makers. Case/IHC combined with Ford/NH and Fiat has a chunk of the companies. Mahindra had a connection to IHC through the British factory, licensed by IHC/UK to make IHC patterns in India, makes replacement parts for IHC models sold in US and UK and continues to make minor variation of IHC B250, B275, B414? as Mahindra models plus later developements of IHC plus some of own upgrades, separate developements for Indian and Asian market that have sellable models in US. Mahindra is military contractor with decent quality control- customers that get bad parts have access to automatic weapons and mobile cannon so complaints may be made at end of gun barrel, very large gun barrels. Does tend to keep workers alert, management concerned with quality control. Decent metal work, moderate labor costs and proven designs to start with means fair value-- and lots of spare parts sent to US for IHC and accesseries for others in the Case/IHC/Ford/New Holland/Fiat/whatever now. Tractors just another collection of spare parts already sent to US, established distribution network and wharehousing. Royal Enfield Motorcycles made in India from old licensed production of British days a good seller in Asian market- and now coming to USA, sale office in Milwaukee selling 'old' styled 500cc singles for 1/2 the price of Harley big twins. Mahindra has similar situation- large sales volume in other markets so small American market for some models still has economy of scale prices, parts available, quick enough delivery. Corporate names may have changed in last year or 2, John Deere about only one with same name from 50 years or more back. RN.

The infamous Bills Tractor in San Antonio is a good sized Mahindra dealer, then they got into NH, they only lasted a year with NH. Even though Bills Tractor is a good sized Mahindra dealer they don't stock hardly any parts for them.

Probably can't get enough NHs to fill the demand for tractors since Bader took over the Deere dealer. lol

Cnh dealer nearest to me started carrying Mahindra about five years ago. Toys at first, and now the bigger ones. I asked one of the salesmen why they were carrying them. He said that they can order a NH machine, and might get them in three or four months. They can order some Mahindra's and they're there in about two to three weeks. So far, they're building a good name around here.

I have the littlest Mahindra and it's been a good worker for me. No issue except I waited too long to respond to the fuel tank recall, I waited until mine actually started leaking. Probably for the best since the dealer said the official fix wasn't working and they are just replacing the whole tank now.

I used to laugh at the TV commercial they had where the guy was driving his Mahindra tractor around, and the neighbor watching him on his 730 John Deere threw his hat on the ground in frustration-----So you're telling me that a brand new Mahindra is better than a 60 year old John Deere? I would certainly hope so!!
