IH 350 Coolant

I have an IH 350U tractor that has low oil pressure. I addressed this problem previously and received guidance. In the process of checking bearing clearances, I noticed some very small drops of coolant hanging on the middle main bearing cap. Would this small amount of coolant indicate a possible head gasket issue, or should I focus somewhere else. I do not want to roll in a new set of main and rod bearings with an existing coolant leak.

You are in the perfect position to do a pressure check. You can apply pressure through the overflow nipple if you have a cap designed for a recovery tank. Best if you have a gauge so as not to go over 10 psi.

Is the top end still together?

If so, pressure up the cooling system, see if you can find the leak.

If it is coming down beside a piston, or an oil drain back hole, probably is a head gasket.

Not sure if that has wet sleeves, but could be the sleeve seal where the sleeve sits in the block.

Either way, finding the leak is much better than going in blind, not knowing where it is coming from.
