Three bolt rim and hub????

Anyone ever see a rim and hub with only three bolts? This is on an older silage conveyor that someone put homemade wheels and lift on. We brought it in from the pasture to mount a six inch 20 ft grain auger on for cleaning rye. My guess is that it is (or was) David Bradley as the 15 inch rims are green and there might be a hint of red on the hubs. I have been to alot of sales but never seen three bolt hubs and rims before. Tom

Case DC tractors had them in the front, with big heavy cast iron rims. I doubt that is what you have tho.

You are correct that David Bradley had green three bolt wheels. The current Smart car also has 3 bolt wheels.

I've got some three bolt 15 inch rims with tractor style tread that i got somewhere. I've also seen Renault LeCars with three bolt rims.

Renault used 3 bolt rims on 4CV/5CV back about 60 + years ago.
I think you may have David Bradley. We had an elevator with 3 bolt rims in the 50s.

The David Bradley walk behind tractors used 3 bolt on some. Some they used the standard 5 bolt and just left the hub only drilled for 3 bolts. But your standard 5 bolt implement wheels fit right on.

We had a David Bradley paddle corn elevator we used to upload ear corn from the crib into a pickup. Beat the scoop shovel the whole way! It was falling apart when we got it, but held together for only 20 years or so. When replaced, I scrapped the elevator part but kept the axle, tires and lift frame. Years later, we got a tube frame bale elevator system inside the barn, and a 24 foot tube elevator from the wagons up to the barn unit. I adapted the DB running gear to the tube bale elevator, MUCH easier to wheel it around than lift it up to the door! The running gear has the three-lug wheels and rims, originally green and red, Larry would love the current color of the whole elevator! The hubs are cast, presumedly they had bushings originally. Since annual mileage is now about 200 feet, the 0.25in hub tolerance is just about right...

(quoted from post at 18:24:27 09/03/17) I think a Geo metro was 3 bolt.
Nope. Bought my lady one about 6 yrs ago, needed an overhaul due to a plugged radiator. Easiest water-cooled motor I ever went through, it had (IIRC) 140K on the clock and everything was still in standard specs. Been a great car ever since, she complained today that it only got 49 mpg on the last tank, probably needs air in the tires, due for an oil change hopefully tomorrow. But the 12" rims have four studs, even if they are only 10mm-1.50.

Measure center to center on your three hole hubs. Then look for five hole rims with the same spacing. Chevy P/U 5 bolt are 5 on 5,old Ford,Jeeps are 5 on 5.5. Just use 3 bolts not five.

The Renault R-10 and R-8 and Daphnia all had 3 bolt rims. I had one back when I was in the Navy 1967 Renault R-10 paid $100 for it and it needed a simple brake job. Drove it all over the place and got 30 plus MPG loved that little rear engine car

I have an R-10 wheel above my air compressor on which I wind the hose.

A friend and I went thru about 25 R-10s in the early '60s. I did the mechanical work, he did the painting.
We joked that we bought them for $50, sold them for $500 and made 10% on the deal.

Best snow car I ever drove.

IIRC Peugeot also used 3 bolt wheels.

And 3 bolt wheels for the Ford fans

I still have one or 2 of those rims out in my iron pile unless some one stole them that is. I have not seen them in a long time but I know they where there 25 plus years ago. I totaled the R-10 I had twice. Once I hit a milk truck due to a traffic light not working correctly and the 2nd time I hit an LTD ford. Hit the brake pedal so hard that I snapped it off where it did the level thing. Ended up in court over the hitting of the LTD and won due to the fact there was a missing stop sign

If I'm not mistaken the John Deere M had 3-bolt rims on the front, which were really standard 6-bolt rims with every other stud omitted.

In 22 responses nobody yet has asked if these are three bolts evenly spaced, or two close together and one opposite? What is the bolt circle diameter?
