JD lawnmowers from today

I was at a buddy of mine/longtime friend of my dad's today helping him clean out his barns before he sells his place. I had forgotten my dad had these JD lawnmowers stored there. They are pretty interesting though, they have options you don't commonly see on the regular ones. Dad's Oliver 145 hydro lawn mower is there too now that I think about it. Says one day they'll get fixed up, but who knows now that his tractor buddy is looking to move nearer his kids. Too bad the covers came off and the birds pooped on them. I'm pretty sure there's another orange one somewhere, maybe hiding at the other farm of dad's.

Wow, those are nice! It's a good thing your Dad had the foresight to hold onto them and not just scrap them out. So much history is just being melted down, buried in landfills, or rusting in the woods.

Hopefully those can get restored and save that little bit of history. Great post.

Those tractors are from the John Deere "patio series", a DEERE marketing gimmick to sell LGT's that blended into suburbia.

Sold wisely, they have more value than the GREEN versions.

The patio tractor seats should also match the hoods except for a green jd was just yellow like a normal jd. They were as ferrr as I know yellow, orange, red, and blue. Some very desired toys to rabid JD collectors. Don't let them get away. Get them the H out of there before they go poof! They are in very restorable or even just as show condition. Get you butt over there!

Get the Oliver 145 you mentioned first. The value of it is more than any JD Patio tractor. The Olivers were only sold two years, all were made in one year. The Olivers are Jacobsen built machines. A 145 Hydro is the most desireable because the fewest were made, and it was the flagship. There was a 145 at Portland IN last week in rough condition with an asking price of $1500. Restored ones sell for $3500 or more. Be careful of the grille, it is special to the Oliver and easily broken.
