implement rims

For instance, the front rim on my JD 3020 has the standard size holes that allow it to be bolted to the hub. But there are also a complete set of holes in between the ones used to bolt it to the hub. What are they used for or what do they fit?

They are used when you want dual wheels, like on the chamber side of a baler, or on an AC pull type combine, under the grain tank, in wet conditions. Had personal experience with both.

A neighbor did that one year on his bailer.it sure looks funny till you see how nicely it works. The thing is doesn't the inner wheel need to be reversed with dish in and the outer is dish out.

Depends on the wheel. On our AC 66 combine, it was naturally dished in, and we could mount a Roto Baler wheel to it by reversing the dish of that wheel. I used to have a deep dish rim for a baler, JD, NH, etc. that stuck out several inches on the back side, so the inside dish didn"t matter. My son has duals on his JD round baler...I think it"s HM, with pipe spacers bolted into the holes between the edge of the rim and the hub. Lots of rims have those 4 holes.

I think what you are looking at is a set of holes with the taper for the bolt head the oposite way for reversing the rim for different dish to where the tire sets. Check to see if the taper isn't just the oposite.

If you have a narrow front tractor the wheels can be turned around to keep them from plugging with mud .

steve he is descibing the 12 holes in a for a 6 bolt hub ,, there is 4 bolt holes that are in the body of the wheel to accomodate weights ,,. most are standardsized ,, most 6 bolt wheels willinterchange with other brands ,,. my 730Case hubs require a 1/8inch bigger center hole
