Somebody was telling me Saturday that the White with the V12 is the one that the progress pictures of,were posted from time to time on the Oliver forum. Is that true do you know?

I really wanted to go to this show this year, and had planned to go.BUT,I had eye surgery in March that had complications, and so I was unable to attend.Sooo... thanks for the pictures-I really enjoy seeing what I missed.Mark

m&w gear company?
even though they are no longer in business i think someone bought out.
m&w was know for repower kits before kinze.

in the late 60s they were a bunch of guys that would come to the carroll county tractor pull in milledgeville il
with with repowered with cat or detriot v-8 or allison v12s
at the freeport engine show someone had found and restored bill newlon of prophetstown il m-m g 1000 allison v12
pulling tractor.
i remember wacthing him pull with that tractor he would put on quite show
that would have been 45-50 years ago. as dad would say a water has gone under the bridge

I never heard of M&W repower kits for any tractor. Add Power sleeve and piston kits for every popular tractor made, Add Power Governors, Turbo charger kits, 9-SPEED overdrives for H&M Farmalls, stroker crankshafts for Farmall M's, three different styles of duals, direct axle duals, wheel weight bolt hole dual hubs, and clamp-on duals, and all kinds of little add-ons like air filters, clutch lever extenders to make clutch easier to push on Farmall M's, variable speed throttles, live 2-way hydraulics, The Little Red Wagon, first 350 bushel gravity wagon and gear. Later they got into tillage equipment. One fall I pulled a borrowed M&W Earth Master disk ripper for my LandLord instead of his 2-shank too Big Glenco Soil-Saver.

There was more stuff too, I used to get a catalog every year. Dad had most of their stuff on one or the other M's he farmed with.

I remember about a half a dozen Detroit powered Deere's from Iowa coming to the Henry County Fair tractor pull every year in Cambridge, Ill.

m&w used to have the m&w power show kinda like the farm progress show but with only m&w products that is where is first
saw a 5010 john deere with a cat v8

kruser,

Great photos.

That's only the 2nd JD 8020 I've ever seen in my life. A guy around here has one with a big ol' plow attached... it looks like a dinosaur.

Kinda think I remember him pulling at PeoRia, IL in the late 70's.
Along with John Bockwitz and that awesome JD

Now the more I think about it ??
That was a Silver White BUT guessing thats the same tractor ????
Or Not?

Jim

LOL
Hope Big Tee don't check in and tell us he likes the Cummings better than the Cat in them 4020s !!!!

Since Big T has not commented yet I will for him. Cummins would defiantly look better in there. ( I work there I have to say it)

Ive seen pictures of the other A4T. If it is the same one, it was a A4T-1900. It was one MM was working on that wasnt put into production, 3 transmissions were built back then and two of them were found. It has a 800 cid LP engine and a heavier transmission to take the hp. To my understanding it has a 4 speed transmission with a 2 speed drop box and a 2 speed powershift. Quite a feat for early 1970s.

Just to add, White, the parent company pulled the plug on the project like it did with Oliver development as well. I had heard MM was also working on a powershift transmission for the 50 series MM tractors.
