Ford F 350 again

Yesterday while poking around under the hood, i found a vacuum solinoid with the vac. tubes broken. A internet search showed it was a hub locking solinoid. This truck currently has manual hubs and no sign of a dash switch. Is it possible this 1996 model started off with auto lock hubs controlled when the 4x4 shift was engaged?
Or mmight this control something else ?

If you unplug the electric connector, start the engine, you'll probably get a check engine code.

Scan the code, it will tell what it does.

Then you'll need to plug it back in, clear the code, and leave it connected, just to satisfy the ECM.

More info what engine do you have... Pink could go to the EGR valve black would be the vacuum source.... Look for a vehicle information decal under the hood are radiator support.

Was it plugged up if so post the wire colors.

EGR was usually a green line, but the EGR vacuum regulator would have a vent too or round cap on top of the solenoid. My guess is AIR bypass or diverter valve solenoid (smog pump/thermactor system)
