We tied the knot

44 years ago Marilyn and I tied the knot. Where has the time gone? Bittersweet it is, this is 'trigger day', the day I pull the trigger to pay the land rents so the checks get to the landlords by Sept 1st.

Happy Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. fixerupper! Wishes for many more to come.

Be glad you're not our renter... we get our payment up-front before spring planting.

Happy anniversary Mr & mrs fixerupper. Time wait s for no one. The older I get the faster the days go by. RB

Congrats!

My wife and I are nearing 52 years. I haven't figured out yet how she's managed to weather it all.

It was a hot day and the church had no air conditioning. We couldn't afford a dance afterwards so some of us got together for coffee at my house afterwards. The next day we took off for Colorado Springs in a non air conditioned car. When we went by Omaha the temp was 102. Was following a Joey Chitwood stunt car truck on I80 when a trailer tire blew a cap and suddenly I was dodging tire chunks at 80 MPH. Yes, the truck was doing 80 also. I don't know what that truck had for an engine but it was moving right along compared to most of the trucks back then.

My baby great granddaughter is getting hitched tomorrow.I'm suppose tohave a new baby great granddaughter due Sept 2nd.

Congratulations!

Funny the stuff that happens on wedding day. We had to take a ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, where the wedding was to be. She went early, but I went to class (UW) and was just driving into the
waiting lot when the ferry was pulling out. Very stormy day- I asked why the boat left early, and the ferry guy said, "oh, that was the previous boat- water's so rough we have gotten further and further
behind- next boat in 45 minutes or so." Which would make me late for my own wedding. As I was walking back from talking to the ferry guy, a hand came out of a car window- it was wife's uncle, who was going
to give her away. We were heading for a drink at the Crab Pot bar, and another hand comes out a window- its the judge who is going to perform the ceremony. We made a quick assessment that they weren't going
to start without us, and the judge joined us for a drink or two as well.

I guess it worked out OK, we'll be 47 years in February.

Great granddaughter getting married? Oh wow, makes me feel young. LOL A couple of my granddaughters are marrying age but haven't found the right one so I haven't even reached great grandpa status yet. [/quote]

Three weeks ago we went to a big celebration on our 44th anniversary, only it wasn't for us it was our daughter's wedding. At age 41 she finally got hooked to Mr. right, and now we share the same anniversary date.

It is 27 years for Barbara and I, feels like it was just last week. That is until our girls remind us that they go back to university next week. We had the reception at a small community centre which had a community event almost every weekend all
summer, so lots of extra people showed up who knew us. Funny thing is one of them married my sister 8 years later, strange how fate works its wonders. So to all congradulations and best wishes for many more years together.

Showcrop your daughter's wedding date arrangement is interesting and a little familiar. My parents were married on my mom's parents 25'th anniversary, in the same church my grandparents were married and also by the same pastor.

That takes some planning!

For some reason we like to keep things 30 years apart. We got married 30 years after my folks and our oldest daughter got married 30 years after us. Plus,Mom,our oldest daughter and I are 30 years apart in age.

Yes it was staged for sure. I assume it was on a Saturday. I should look back to see if Feb 15, 1948 fell on a Saturday.
