Agco White 6124

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1995 Agco White 6124 MFWD with a loader. Just curious as to problems people have had with them and just a general idea of people's opinions on them. It has a CDC 5.9 engine so that should be good for the most part, but I'm unfamiliar with other aspects. Any help is appreciated!

I use a 1996 6144, same as the 6124, except it has an intercooler and 25 more HP. 12 valve Cummins is rock solid. Use it for baling, tillage, bush hogging. Creature comforts are quite good. Very good power, smooth transmission, very reliable. The 32x32 dynashift transmission is great for bailing, the shuttle shift will work well for a loader tractor. Upon initial start up let the computer cycle prior to starting. Press in clutch, let computer cycle thru all 4 ranges, lights on right cab column by forward-reverse lever, then turn key to start, get in a hurry and the computer get confused, and strange thing start to happen. Would buy again, very satisfied. It replaced a 2-155 white.

Jake,

I sold those tractor new an they were very dependable and not gear bound. With 32x32 power shift you have 4 shifts in each range plus a high /low an forward & reverse shuttle.
