2007 Silverado Transmission Problem

I have a 2007 New Body Silverado 1500. The transmission cooler line rusted a hole and drained all the fluid burning up the clutches. My local shop rebuilt the transmission with new clutches, torque converter, etc. It ran fine for the first 50 miles. Now it won't shift from 2nd to 3rd. Goes in reverse, neutral, 1st, and 2nd fine but it will not shift into 3rd. Shifting that it does is very smooth. No funny noises. No slipping. No check engine or any other dash lights. I checked fuses. Trying to do it manual with shift lever does nothing. Bottom line is it won't shift into 3rd from 2nd. Other than that everything else seems fine. Could this be the 2-3 shift solenoid, and if so, shouldn't it be making the check engine light come on?

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the tip and yes I did. He acts like he wants to do a complete tear down again and I'm just wondering if that's necessary.

They assembled something wrong in the 3-4 clutch. That clutch is very fragile in a 4L60E. They likely missed the o ring in the bottom of
the input housing, or rolled a lip seal on the 3-4 apply piston. It worked, but stressed the clutch until it failed. Another rebuild on their
dime now, dangers of running a trans shop.

Bingo!
Take it back

You paid a shop to do a job. Their responsibility is to perform the requested repair and to do it right. If the transmission failed this soon, they obviously made a mistake. There is nothing to be gained from discussing it here about what may be wrong. The diagnosis as well as the repair is their responsibility.
Give it back to them and sit back and relax. Don't worry about what the problem is.

Did he commit to refresh the entire transmission the first time or just fix a specific problem? Be sure he doesn't now "find" something he
did not agree to do originally that you will be charged for and cover his warranty work.

He committed to rebuild the transmission. Torque converter, clutches, bands, etc. Like you say I just hope he fixes the problem without trying to bill me additional. At that rate I should have just put a new one in it.
