Hydroylic connector

Can someone tell me who manufactured this, or where I might buy them. Replaced my shoulder and I have trouble connecting my hoses under pressure.

Take a 'sample' to your favorite neighborhood implement dealer. They should have no problems ordering you some. we had a 1955 Oliver once that had them was sure handy for hooking up hoses. I think they are called 'Safeway' couplers.(but not too sure....)
 
Brand name was "Metro", from 50 years ago. NOT sure what you may find "out there" on the 'net, but pretty much obsolete in the real everyday farming world.

Simplest way around that is not to DISCONNECT the hoses under pressure, in the first place.

Lower implements to the ground, block them up, or use the mechanism provided by the mfg of the implement to hold the implement up, and take the pressure off of the hydraulic system BEFORE pulling the hoses in the first place.

On the other hand, you didn't tell us what tractor you have, but if already has hydraulic couplers that are not proprietary to the brand/a part of the tractor, there's a number of easy to couple under pressure alternatives out there, such as Pioneer 9250 or 8200 series. GOOGLE will show you those.

If some of those older tractors didn't have float it was darned near impossible to relieve pressure even with the engine off.

i have been looking for those connectors for a while now. had a set and lost them. should not be hard to plug in as they screw in which i like. also if you are pressured up just crack the hose fitting and relieve the pres. dont unplug cyl. unless impliment is on the ground or in transport mode. then relieve pressure and unplug.
 
I know how to get the pressure off, thats not the problem. I don't have enough strength to slide the sleeve back and get the coupling in and locked. I bought a 115 JD grader blade the other day and it had them on it and I thought it would work perfect for my situation.
 
Ha, ha, at my age I should know better than to make a "on size fits all" comment like that. Seems strange, tho, being such a good idea, and all, that we can't go out tomorrow and buy a new Oliver! Wonder why?
 
I have not seen that style coupler. If it is what Oliver used , well, very few Olivers around here. But my Uncle worked at the Charles City, Iowa Oliver plant for many, many years. He either cast or machined the front hubs on his last job I think. Might see RY initials on some of those hubs.

IH used a pioneer style coupler for a while, like on the 450 and maybe even 560 that you could screw apart a few turns, hook it up, and then screw it back together. Once in a while they would unscrew by them selves and gradually reduce the flow, causing operator to have to hold the hydraulic lever to move hydraulic cylinder and then finally closing off completely. Caught a few people with diagnosing the problem.
 
i see what u mean, yes i like them for that reason, as just screw them on. i have a super w6ta with those on the charlyn pump.
 
My Long 460 has a coupling set up where the female end goes into and there is a lever to work the coupling mechanism makes it real easy to couple and uncouple the hoses,think
its factory Fiat so you might want to look into that.
