JD 70D oil pressure sensor wiring help

I am working on a JD 70D and I want to confirm what this switch is about (see photo). I believe that it is an oil pressure sensor that shuts off the fuel to the pony motor and is a safety valve so if the float valve in the carburetor leaks it will not run gas into the crankcase after engine is shut down.

I also need to find out how to wire it up.

Not 100% what is in there. You may have inherited somebody's science experiment that has been modified.
This free link to the factory parts should assist some in sorting out what goes where. There is an excellent electrical service manual SM-2029 for two cylinder wiring from 1-800-522-7448.

The switch grounds the oil pressure light on the dash. Has nothing to do with the automatic fuel shut off, just shares a common fitting.

Note sure what function the sensor performs.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]CRANKING ENGINE FUEL SYSTEM[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Note the gasoline shut-off rod (Key 1), gasoline shut-ff needle valve (Key 4), and flexible gasoline line (Key 6).

Take a look at the gasoline shut-off rod rod below on "John W" our 56 Model 70 Diesel.

To shut off the fuel, turn the gasoline shut off rod counter-clockwise.

Take a look at the flexible gasoline line.

Gas is gravity fed to the carburetor.

You also might consider making this same post on the John Deere Tractors Discussion Board on this site.

Hope this helps.
