New diesel fuel additive

Well I am not sure if it's new or not. Schaeffer's soy shield. Saw it this afternoon at the local auto parts. Looked it up online and it seems to be quite the product if it does everything it says. Cost online is 11 dollars which treats 50 gallons. That adds .22 cents per gallon to the fuel cost. Can buy bigger quantities which would bring the price down. We currently use stanadyne fuel treatment in our farm equipment and trucks. Anyone ever have experience with this product ?

I have no knowledge of this product.

However Schaffer brand oil and products have been around a
Long time and are generally regarded as Quality Products.

Hello 300jk,

I worked for Mobil for about 1/4 century. The fleet got filled with the same fuel that it was delivered to the gas stations. Blended for the season and the location. We never added anything else. In cold spells we were the only trucks running,

Guido.

I ran Stanadyne for quite a few years in my service truck, and it gave me an increase in my MPG.

That said, about the only way to tell if the new stuff will work will be to give it a try. If it works as good, or better, than the Stanadyne, and is more cost effective, that answers your question better than anything any of us can.

Guido,
Does Mobil 1 improve mpg in gas engines? Or does Mobil make any additive to put in gasoline that does?

I looked up the msds sheet and most of this consists of petroleum derivatives or chemicals that could be made from soybean oil or dino. Its main contribution is a C-tane improver and a top cylinder lube which is like carrying coal to Newcastle when talking about diesel fuel.

I am always cautious about highly touted products that could be mouse milk but I don't know how this compares to others.

I actually experienced someone who was convinced enough to want to buy into a gas pill multilevel marketing program. What I saw were green speckled pills and when I smelled them I knew what was up. It was the old moth ball scam. I ran a melting point determination and it was bingo, but I had a bit of a time convincing the person. The person had reasonable cause to want this to work.
This BioPerformance Company was shut down in the state of Texas as a Ponzi scheme in 2006. After seeing this I am always skeptical until I see documented proof of a products benefits.

Hello Geo-Th, In,

Mobil1 will flow like water at after you coolant solution freezes! Being thinner then mineral oil it offers less resistance, so less friction. That should help with fuel consumption. It may not be much though. We never added anything to the tank, just the product the came out of the pump.
I never seen any fuel additives or cleaners with the Mobil logo. The diesel is BLENNDED for the area AND the season. NO additives needed!. At one time Mobil guaranteed the diesel to star the vehicles or pay the tow! I may still have a patch for my uniform. Now that I remembered I will have to look for it. I hope I answered your question,

Guido.

I've used Schaefer's Diesel Treat and Nuetra for years and am well pleased with them BUT I've never used the product that you mentioned.
