Getting Things Together for Nowthen 2017

Hello all! Well, I just figured I would post a video of getting some things together for the show. I am up to FIVE tractors in my collection now, and I intend at having all five at the Nowthen Threshing Show here in Nowthen, MN the 18-20. Attached also are a couple photos. It has been a busy year - between picking up the 1942 Farmall H, and also the 1938 F20 with 1935 parts tractor.. Both are running well now, and I also had to fix an old repair on the leaky 1941 Case SC gas tank (twice). So far, so good. I'm glad to have good friends, and good help on all of the forums through this site. I hope everyone is having a great summer, and hope to see some of you at the show!

2017 Nowthen Prep Duties

Enjoyed the video. One of these years I'd like to make it down to the Nowthen show. This year we will be at the Itasca show on that same weekend.

Nice tractors Ken! My wife and I will be there Saturday night for the tractor pull and Sunday for the pancakes and square dancing! Look forward to it every year.

Thanks, Jegs!

I haven't stayed for the pull for a few years (normally working overnights), but this year I am going to try. Stop by our club's tent. We have plenty of tractors to feast on!

Rollag is very enjoyable, but big! Plan for at least two days if possible. Sometime you'll have to give the White Pine show in McGrath, MN a try. That is the one that is closest to me, I try and go most years. Also, This Old Farm near Brainerd has quite a bit to see too. I believe their show is the weekend before Nowthen.

Doing the same for Forest City. That is a tough weekend with all the shows that go on. I haven't been to Nowthen for about 12 years as I've inherited the mill duties at FCTA. The wife's Grandma grew up just down the road from there and I enjoyed the show and know several exhibitors there. Likely I won't see the others until they deem me unfit for my duties.

When is White Pine? We happened across it years ago coming back from Hibbing, and enjoyed it- bit different influence with all the lumbering, etc. Nice variety.

Hi Jim,
It is Labor Day weekend, people a lot of folks bring in their tractors Friday night, and many come to camp for the weekend. The actual show is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The first two days are the best, as quite a few folks pull out early on Monday to get back home. It does have a strong emphasis on the lumber industry, also includes grain threshing, shingle and barrel making, rock crushing, etc. Usually 200+ tractors in attendance.
