And you think you had a bad day.

I think someone on here had the story yesterday. That was quite a fireball. BTW did you see the video of the huge rattlesnake in Brown County State park? That sucker was huge!

The explosion of dust was short, but was explained as causing the most damage. What does it damage? Does it burn the corn? What could it damage in just the "few" seconds it lasted?

Curious as to what caused the initial buckling of the bin? Also as to what the fireball did that caused the most damage??

If in fact it was a fireball and not a low grade dust explosion I would wonder the same thing. If it was a low grade dust explosion you are going to have concussion damage to surrounding structures, broken windows and suck.

I wonder if the dust explosion was caused by an electrical panel getting knocked out from the bin collapse?

i had a 1200 bu slotted corncrib bin bukle , But NO WHERE Near like that
ONE did.. we converted it to shelled corn and it worked well for many yrs ..
about 30 yrs ago we filled it in one day,.a hot week or so later ,.started
grinding feed , Corn was heating up , needed to be dryed .. Dad and I drawed
it all out and moved it in the dryer bin in one day ,. never noticed the bukle
til we were shoveling in the bottom ... I bolted about 6 pcs of 1 inch angle
iron 8 ft long vertically to keep it from doing the accorddian trick .

.. Btw ,, ABout .. the flash fire bin collapse .. The electric wires or
panel was damaged when the bin fell ,. those sparks did INDEED lite the corn
dust and made the Flash Fire
