Just got back from our show grounds where we were working at setting up for the Goessel Threshing Days show happening this coming weekend. Goessel is about 40 miles north of Wichita, KS. We are usually sweltering hot this time of year but the 10-day forecast doesn't have anything over 87 F predicted so we're looking forward to a more comfortable show than is typical for us. We're featuring Ford this year and will have lots of field demonstrations (plowing, combining, threshing, binding, silage chopping, etc), several steamers, many 100-year old gas prairie tractors, kid's activities, a Mennonite history museum, raffle for a Ford 6000 pedal tractor, draft horses, and more. The club's website for more information is listed in YT's "Events Calendar" for Aug 4 and 5. You all of course are welcome to join us! If you come please look me up - it is always enjoyable meeting other YTers in person.
 
The last time I attended that show was 5-6 years ago and it was great. Really impressed by those huge old prairie tractors. Was great the way they went down the line of tractors and started each one after a short explanation of each. First and only time I had seen a Field Marshall started.
 
Going to try and make it never been.Hopefully can bring my 87 year old father since weather might be better. I work Saturday morning off at 10 were 2 hrs away
 
I plan on being there with my Field Marshall Also a Fowler VF crawler which is based on a Field Marshall tractor. Look me up I would enjoy visiting with some of you.
