Antique Tractor Definition

Many consider 50 years to be the number. Others include things that are 25 years old but unique and small numbers/one off things. Jim

A few months ago I was reading on one of these tractor sites, and they were talking about Ford 5600 series tractors being old and exported to cheaper countries where they are still useful.

And I realized I don't know what an antique tractor is, but I sure feel like one myself.

Generally anything with an engine is "classic" at 20 years. Most things have to be 50 years old to be an antique.

Heck, all the stuff I farm with is antique. Newest tractor is a 83 4690 Case...oldest are several 50s DC Cases.

The true definition of "antique" is anything 100 years old or older.

Personally, I consider any tractor that was built in 1939 and earlier to be antique. 1939 and later is a "classic". Up through the '70s would still be considered classic, and anything after that is just another old tractor.

Well local tractor club is 1960 and earlier so an Oliver 770 made in 1959 is antique and one made in 1961 is not!!!! The state considers any vehicle 25 year or older to be elgible as antique registered. Next depends on the item in relation to time a 1980s tandy computer or Atari is antique a rung working dump truck is not.
