John Deere 3010 brakes

I just bought a 3010 pretty decent shape just 2 issues. Left brake is fine, step on the right brake and it stops the left wheel, no I don't have them locked together. /also minor oil leak around the pto shaft. How hard is the seal to replace? Any comments welcome.

The pto maybe as easy as a new seal or you might need to get a speedi sleeve to put on it to provide a new surface for the seal. With use the 3010 and 4010 pto seals will wear a groove in the shaft making a new seal not work. You can also remove the spring from the seal and inspect it closely you will find that they are threaded together. Unthread and trim a little off then thread back together as this will draw the seal a little tighter. As far as brakes you need to remove the lines at the rear of the brake valve and switch them side to side and if your problem changes that tells you the problem is in the valve and not the axles. More than likely a valve issue. Tom
