Undersized Hex nuts ?

I'm working on my John Deere LUC engine and I misplaced a couple of the Hex nuts for the Intake/Exhaust manifold. Does anybody know of a local supply source? Fastenal, Farm store, etc.?

Parts catalog shows parts # L852T, still available from DEERE, but pricey.

They are brass, 7/16" thread and 5/8" across the flats, doesn't state fine or coarse.

A good auto parts store should have them for exhaust stud nuts where the exhaust pipe attaches to the manifold.

Are the nuts you have smaller than the 5/8" ones DEERE shows?

Dorman #680-005 will get you brass nuts the size DEERE shows, 5/8" across the flats.

Were the originals "tall", or just .375" wide like the DEERE or Dorman replacements?

The nuts use a 5/8" wrench or socket.the nuts are standard thickness so the Dorman ones should work just fine.

(quoted from post at 14:07:07 07/15/17) The Dorman nuts appear to be as pricey as the Deere ones .

Not sure where I got the first price and maybe not was a box. But .99 each at oreilly
