forgot to mention why I used the Oliver. The wheels are set so the two row three pt hitch cultivator will work. The wheels are set more narrow on my Ford . Another neighbor up the road comes and cultivates the patch and the sweetcorn patch,He is real good with it,I would probably tear some up if I tried.I asked him the secret of using the three pt hitch cultivator,,he said,,,dont look back,,look straight ahead!

Larry, How fertile is that land? It has been farmed for a couple hundred years, so what does it take to make it grow
great crops? Do you do soil tests? Types of fertilizer? What is it's weakness or strength? Just interested.

I grew up with an 8N- Worked at the neighbors for 4 summers in high school- they had an AC D14, and a JD 40. One day I got there and the boss said "Go down to the shed and bring up the green tractor." I figured he meant the 40, but the 40 was gone and a brand new Oliver 550 diesel with Freeman loader was sitting there. I still remember how shiny it was. When I brought it up to the house, I don't know whose grin was bigger, his or mine. After I had worked it a bit, it occurred to me that this is what an 8N wants to be when it grows up. Liked it so much that I bought a used one identical to it in the mid-70's, which I still have.

Keep the pictures coming. Looking forward to the turnip pics.
