Found out that my dads first tractor was a W30 Farmall; can anyone tell me there history? Yrs made? He must have bought it in the 40's ; I remember I ran it in the late 50's.... Not many pics out there ...thanks

The W-30 is actually a McCormick-Deering tractor made from 1931 to 1939 (standard-tread tractor).
A closely related model is the Farmall F-30 also made from 1931 to 1939(row-crop tractor)..
Both made by International Harvester.
Both with the 283 cubic inch engine.
all of this info is from TractorData.com

I have one as a future project, here's a
sales brochure...

are you at liberty to explain the relationship of 1hc -farmall -and mcCormick -deering,to one another ?,,. i always believed they were all of the same , but yet kinda like cousins workingf out of the same shop and keeping the profits from their pet project ,,. but what do i know ,, i am a case nut ,. LOL,.. must be nearly 6 inch pistons in that -4 cylindar motor,?, remember chevy had a 283 v-8 ,.,but golly that 25-30 gallon appetite i hope was projected for a long all day lite day in mid june,,.. seemed like tractors before 1935 had all the styling of a wheelbarrow ,, and my experince is they handled the same way ,, lest wise , most folx knew they beat lookin at the bakside of a mule .

They were all McCormick Deering tractors, The Farmall and it's later F series 12.20,30 were McCormick Deering Farmalls. The Farmall designated the Row Crop tractors.

my Dad had one also. They are not known as Farmalls though as that refers to the row crop IHC line. McCormick Deering is correct for W30s.
Not real sure but I would say they were made in the 1930s - Dad's was a 1937 and my guess is they ended before the 1939 introduction of the M, H, W4, W6, W9 and that series.
