Know of a low effort hitching system?

I want to devise a back-up-and-lock for my lawn tractor and tow mower, so that I can unhitch, and leave the tow mower while I trim in some tight spaces, then go back and hitch up without getting off the seat.

Years ago, while servicing some equipment at a southern state peanut and cotton mill, I saw Mahindra tractors handling peanut drying wagons doing this, but never got a photo of their system

Thanks, Leo

You're looking for something like a Bergman Agri-speed hitch, but much lighter. They're built to pull large chopper boxes and gravity boxes.

crawl under an Allis tractor and look at the snap coupler under it. Then duplicate it to the scale that works with your tractor. The tongue on the trailing mower may need an eye and a spring to hold it up.

Yup, they are the real deal, obviously too heavy for a lawn mower setup, but what you want to pattern after. Often called speed hitches.

We had a snap type hitch on our new holland baler. Someone had to hold the tongue of the hay rack up with the pin in, but only had to guide it while the baler driver backed up. Didn't have to be real accurate on where to stop. Just pulled a rope to trip it loose.
