Don't do stupid things with tractors. Tragic and completely preventable. The community here lost one heck of a brewer and one of the finest persons you'll ever meet to a tractor chained to a stump.Be safe out there, there is no stump, log, rock or anything of the like worth dying for.
Tractor Accident.

Very sad to read this but some how it is true. I hear a lot of guy's bragging about pulling stuff out with there tractors. My dad always use to say use the right tool for what it is made for. I guess he was tired of watch us kids use a tool for every thing we could think it could be used for. I am just sorry that people have to lose there life over not thinking. Thanks for posting.

There was something posted a few months back about these tractor operators in other countries and their videos on YouTube. This was a common theme - hooking chain too high and flipping tractor, hooking to immovable object and tear up the machine until it breaks, and even two tractors pulling each other until one tractor breaks in half or explodes in a wall of flames. I just cannot find that entertaining to watch.

Billy, sorry to hear about your friend(?).

I wonder what kind of tractor and if he didn't have a bit too much of his bussines in him.

The really sad thing about any story like this is that most readers tell themselves that they are careful that "this would never happen to me because I am careful." They say to themselves in essence, "that guy was not careful. He said to himself that morning: I am going to go out and have a bad accident today" In other words it does not always happen to the other guy. so we need not only our wits but also our safety equipment.
