JD 261 Groomer Mower

I have a JD 261 Groomer Mower that requires some TLC. All my Tractors with six to eight speed transmissions have to wide a REAR Tire foot print. Just completed some long overdo maintenance.

I increased the drive pulley on the 261 gear box from 9.75 " > 10" outside Diam. This shall increase the speed (RPM)of the three blades (6" Pulleys)such that the machine shall do a better job of mowing. My Tractor only has a four speed transmission and first gear (to fast) is OK but I would like something better than just OK.

There's enough room to install a 10" drive pulley (B Profile)as well the original belt still fits properly, as well the associated drive train (pulleys) still have clearance .

Tried JD 261 Groomer mower and yes the sound of the blades sound more like the Inlet compressor blades on a J-79 or
or Rolls Royce Spey!

Groomed one acre and all looks and feels fine. It's hard to believe that such a minute RPM increase in the three blades make a better finish, in the same tractor gear (first/low) and the same Tractor PTO Rpm...540 Rpm.
