What are the observations out there of a Mahindra tractor for home use, like clearing
snow and grading driveway etc, Not heavy farm work?? anyone have one for that use, if
so what size? Thanks

I'm sure if they sponsor him he will tell you it's a good tractor just like whatever his sponsor is this weekend makes the world's best welder he ever used

I bought a 6530 brand new. Granted I have had some problems with it, but no more than other people with different brands. I have used it in heavy work for its size. I like it very much. I qualify other people as my brother that bought a $300,000 Deere and finally said come get it and bring me a new one.

I have a Mahindra Maxx 25. 2013 model. Just under 300 hours I use it for mowing, snow removal, and general yard work.

I have had no problems at all except for two broken hoses for the loader. (Loader made in USA by a jobber)
I am 6' 230#. I do find the operators station a bit tight. It has no cup holders or wi fi connection.

3 cylinder Mitsubishi diesel hydrostatic. 25 hp at the crank and 23 on the PTO. Has both 540 and 2000 pto.
Two range transmission low range is a work horse, high is pretty much there to run the mower and transport.
I have rake hay with a NH rake and it did real well in high.
Friend of mine raises a couple of beef every year and I clean the run in when they are gone. Tackled the manure and bedding like a real machine.

Does have a couple of really stupid things. Owners manual want oil checked before each operation. To get to dip stick, open hood remove side panel, dip stick is hidden down in there somewhere. Don't take your eyes off the hole it came out of.

Turning brakes, Wow yes actually has turning brakes. trouble is they are on the same side as the hydro pedal and to use them you must throw your legs across and operate with both feet.

Generally I am real happy, Other than the ergonomic issues the saving over green or orange paint makes it well worth it to me.

Don't have one but two friends have them. A 32 horse power and a 45 horse power, forget the model numbers. Both are used lightly for food plots, little bit of clearing, tending to horses, and grass cutting. Neither seem to have any complaints.

Some of the tractors might be alright but in most areas the dealer support stinks. Havent looked at price as of late.

Cust of mine bought 1 several years ago. Had a flat tire about 2 weeks after he bought it. I went out to fix it- tubless tire, pulled it apart, and found a rim so rusty it would not hold air, had to put a tube in the tire to get him going. The rim was made out of very thin steel. Had I been an inexperienced tire repair man I could have easily bent that rim completely out of shape. The dealer eventually picked up the tractor, replaced both rims and repaired or replaced quite a bit of other stuff. He traded it off soon after those repairs were made. /

Larry,
You are right, Lance had issues. If I recall it was electrical and because he used it commercially the warranty was only for one year and he was past that.

I know a man who bought a used Mahindra with low hours for about 10 years old. He got it very cheap. No one wanted a used one.

I will never buy a tractor that I couldn't repair. There are no dealers to go to if I have issues with my terramite. I can call the factory to get parts and advice, but I have to do all the work.

I owned a 62 jaguar xke for many years. Same thing, no dealer, no one knew how to repair it. You are on your own.

No Mahindra dealers in my town that I know of.

I don't know if they all do, but the rims and tires on mine came out of Titan Tire in Missouri.

Just bought a 4500 with 630 hours. Use it to bushhog and pull manure spreader mostly. I'm happy but it's also new to me. It's a big upgrade from my Ford 640.

Some of the Mahindra tractors are near the same as the IH B275 and B14 tractors made in the 1960s. Mahindra put modern engines and sheet metal on them but kept the drive-train the same on several models. In fact, some of the new Mahindra parts fit the old IH tractors.

Frankly I wouldn't own one because a certain radio personality endorses them. This particular personality is a very staunch supporter of the political party that constantly cries "Buy American" yet he is taking money from a foreign-owned corporation to hawk tractors built in a foreign land.

I bought a new Mahindra 4550 4x4 with loader in 2015. I use it mostly for hogging and moving cut brush/small logs with a brush claw on front.

I have pulled a 3 bottom plow as well for food plots. I have about 130 hours on it now. Only been in the shop once when it got some dirt under a sensor. I had been using it in some extremely dusty conditions.

Other than that one issue I have had no issues so far.

One thing I will caution is to check the lug nuts/stud on the wheels for tightness if you get one. My fronts ones came loose and I had to replace 3.

The only complaint is that I wish the lower link arms were a bit longer. I have to pull the PTO shield to use my 3 bottom. Only takes about 5 minutes to pull it.
