I have a 5400 jd the battery indicator light flashes every time the hour meter trips.... i have changed the altenator, instrument pannel, key switch, ......... anyone have any fixes

According to what i have read about the problem it is the way they wire the hour meter, they pull the juice for the hour meter off of the same wire for the l terminal on the alternator which screws up the regulator. I am surprised your having the problem with a new alternator but the fix is apparently repalceing the regulator with a transpo in-255 regulator. That should solve the problem because the regulator has a heavier L cicuit. hth jstpa
