Bad weather close call

Wife heard a crash last night during the storm and found this this morning. Missed both the house and her car. Guess I have another job this weekend now, even tho it's against the rules to cut wood in the summer. Lol

Jon, guess we got lucky. I went out yesterday afternoon to move the truck (no garage here) so a tree couldn't hit it. As I was walking back to the house, big gust of wind cane up and about 5 trees all went down at once out in the woods. Walked around earlier trying to get a view but just too much other vegetation in the way. Sorry guys, no pics.

Was a little bit on the fun side though standing at the doorway watching all these tree tips full of leaves go flying by. .....Yes, I know, I know...I need to get out more! :?

Ha Ha on my rules for cutting firewood. Put on your shorts and tank top and go at it.
Jon, it ain't bad when the wiffey offers to help and wares the same attire also.

''I'd just stand er back up''-I did that very thing years back, large catalpa tree, not much root system. ground had been saturated for days, wind blew this tree gently against the house-huge root ball! took come-a-longs, pulled it back into hole.

Count yourself lucky.
A few years back I called up an old friend just to shoot the breeze.
Not 10 minutes before I called a huge tree of his neighbors crashed down on top of a fifth wheel travel trailer he had just rebuilt, it also destroyed his 1-ton dually that was hooked to it and caved in the roof on one side of his house.

Guess it was not a good time to call.

I don't believe in cutting wood in hot weather either, but last Friday I did some! I was cleaning up the landing where the loggers yarded out 200 cords, I wanted to get it cleaned up while I could still find it, weeds/grass is really going to grow after 2 inches of rain!

saw that done before too. they used cables to keep it upright. Living now - 15 years later.

The 4th I had a maple land on top of my truck, top dented in about 4-5" but still driveable.
