I have an old 706 international with a d282 that I woke up from hibrination. I bled the injection pump and changed the oils and filter but it won't start up without either. I know either is bad to use but that's the only way it will start won't even fire without it. When it finally starts up it will smoke white and miss fire until you rev it up and it will clear up. When it's warm from working it, it will start not as bad with no either use. I figured it could have a blown head gasket so I took the head off and changed the head gasket and while I was in there I looked at the sleeves and pistons and there was a little pitting in a couple pistons and no scoring on the sleeves but the head had a small hair line crack that goes from the injector hole to the exhaust valve it wasn't even noticeable until I cleaned the crap out of it and shined a light on it. I don't know if this could be the problem with the hard starting or if anyone had a better idea of what it could be before I spend the money of fixing it. Any idea can help
