Hydraulic hose ID

During haying season I end up switching machinery between tractors and frustrate myself when I hook the the remote lines up backwards. I want back for lift and forward for drop. I've tried spray paint and colored electricians tape but they wear off. Today I found some colored zip ties and I think they will last much longer.

That's what I use. Color doesn't matter on much of it,just a zip tie on one hose and a corresponding coupler on every tractor. Only exception is the discbine. 4 hoses on that. The swing uses smaller hoses than the lift, but the swing has blue zip ties and the lift uses orange, then back at the cylinder,it has the same color so you know at a glance whether to hook it to the inside or outside bank.

By the looks of the hoses, it looks like you are due for replacement hoses. Getting a bath with hot hydraulic fluid is not a nice thing.

I use zip ties also, blue for the up side, for blue sky so I can remember which one is up. If more than two lines just use another color on both of the second set of hoses and also a blue one on the up side hose.

Dick is right. Hoses are cheaper than dealing with oil injection injury.
