I'm having PTO issues and looking for advice. Used the PTO on my JD 620 twice two weeks ago with not issues. I went to use it a couple days ago and now when I go to engage the PTO (no implement hooked up) it stalls out the tractor and the PTO does not move. About two weeks ago I was using a lift with the 3 point to move a tub of topsoil (maybe 100 - 150 lbs) and it crashed into the back end of the tractor. Everything looked okay at the time but I am wondering if I knocked something out of adjustment because the PTO shaft now seems seized. Any ideas? Thanks.

I guess start by a careful inspection of the outside to see if something like the linkage or pto case are bent or cracked ? Also with the engine off try pulling in and out on the pto shaft it should have some freeplay in the bearings.

Nothing seems bent or cracked. There is definitely not in and out play. I have a model 50 and it moves in and out like you mentioned. My 620 is completely seized in there. I am draining the reservoir and will try to open things up later this week. I don't think it is the clutch as the tractor smoothly tries to engage it. I just think that linkage is jammed.
