What is the hourly pay for experienced tractor drivers and sprayer operators now-a-days? $12 to $30 per hour?
 
Maybe that's why farming here doesn't pay - none of my tractors have windows.

Now how do I convince the other half that a new tractor with cab and AC will make us money?
 
Stareing out the window can get you in trouble.I learned to listen to the machinery and not get distracted.Also computer screens have to be watched one i know didn't end result a jammed combine imagine digging straw out on a hot day ? However if you want to stare out the window you can if you don't mind fixing broken equipment or spend hours cleaning up.
 
When I was in freshman Spanish class many many years ago the teacher moved me across the room so I could not stare out the window at the farm across the road anymore. Dang. She said I could go back to farming when the bus dropped me off at home .
 
I remember one of our teachers used to say pay attention or you will wind up digging ditches all your life. One of our friends started with 1 backhoe then wound up with 3 and 2 excavators. He used to bring that up. Ed Will
