Last week I used the Ford 860 and a two row IH corn planter to plant 38 rows of Ambrosia sweet corn. The rows were 180 feet long.

I just got to wondering how far I'll have to walk when I go through each row to hand pick the ears. 1.29 miles and that is half the sweet corn planted.

Was worried after I planted it last week....all we had was rain and a big cool down. Thought the seeds might rot in the ground. Today, I can 'row' the corn and it looks to be a good stand with little loss.

Now, gotta fight the crows, coon and deer. lol!

You can do it! One time in some good sweetcorn I wanted to see just how fast I was. I had a tractor driver with a wagon, and a helper to carry and dump the buckets for me. I was able to yank a hundred dozen in 45 minutes. But it does not always go that smooth!
