Not just for Deer

I caught this little guy yesterday feeding in one of my food plots behind the house. Probably the same one who's been knocking my garbage cans over.

Hey Kirk

Nice pic. We have some of those around here too but not a lot. Funny thing happend with the last one we saw. I had a pallet with 1000 pounds of pelletized ag lime in 50pound bags dropped off in the corner of one of the fields. Next day went to go spread it and there was Winnie the poo pulling all the bags apart and throwing the lime pellets all over.

Never thought bears would have any interest in the scent of lime?

There are getting to be a lot here in NH. The big story in the news right now is a family of three cubs and mom entering houses and trying out chairs and beds. The Fish and Game are looking for them to put them down. They say that capturing and relocating them will not work because they almost always come back. The new governor says not to worry folks he won't let them be killed.

I come acrost one turkey hunting yesterday morning @ 5:42AM in the woods at 30 Yards,, I just hooted trying
to shock a gobble out of a turkey & he/she decides to slide down out of a tree beside me.. It must not of liked
me, because didn't stay & visit.

Somehow a "Nursery Rhyme" seems to be lurking in these words. Mamma bear, papa bear and baby bear...........forget the rest. Grin

The big story around here was a bear swam the Ohio River and made its way into southern Indiana. I co worker filmed it in his bean field from his drone. Last I heard it was in the refuge.

We have one on our deck severals times a year. There is one hanging around close by again this year. I have not seen it but other people have and told us. We have a yellow lab and he goes out about 9 each night. Couple weeks ago he went out and when he came back in the wife went off the deep end. It seems that the bear had been here and left as present the dog found it and rolled in it. We have a den out back on a high spot in the beaver pond and they use it every year

During hunting season if a Bear shows up at a food plot it won't be any deer there for awhile.Turkeys love the Crimson Clover in the food plots,I'm not into killing Wild Turkeys but I'll go up some mornings in the Spring just to watch the turnkeys come in and strut around in the plots.Sometimes I can nail a red fox or coyote there that kill my poultry and baby goats.

Fire fighting in eastern oregon , bear got into trash can and found a quart can of chain oil , drank the whole thing !!
Boy did it leave some nasty poop piles !!

They are in my food lots a lot and it does not seem to bother the deer. I have one tree stand that id made with treated wood and many years ago the bear took a bite out one of the legs. Now at that place the deer quit using that area. Neighbor had a bunch of slabwood from power poles and they ate big chunks out of it. They seem to like treated wood

Made the statewide news here a few days ago. Someone spotted a bear near Springfield MO. They called the cops, etc. What are the cops gonna do? Give it a loitering ticket?

Jjeeeezzzzeee!

Looks healthy, you've been feeding him well.

Few years ago, had one in neighboring town. Local fuzz followed it out of town with patrol car. Chased into state forest lands which basically backs up to my place. Thanks for nothing.
