I have a PTO shaft that is the trangle type tube. I have to make it longer but I need to know how to measure the tube so I can get the right size. Anyone know ? thanks

Put a piece of cardboard against the end and trace it. Take it with you when you go to whatever store you go to.

Thats the problem as I could take half the shaft with me but no where has it. I found it on Agri supply web site and I will call them tomorrow and see what they have to say

The "triangle" PTO shaft is the italian series. If you click on the different series and look at the inner and outer tubes it gives you the dimensions.

I had a PTO shaft once that was triangular, and found out two of the pointed edges were pointed, but one had a flat on it; the thing would only slide together one way, in one position. Not a big deal, but it would only go together one certain way.

Bondioli shaft series is determined by cup size and cross width of the joint. Measure that up and call someone that sells the stuff. They should have a book. From that they will find the profile size you need. You can also find this stuff online if you look.

Thats what mine has. On my tractor I added a quick hitch and this makes the shaft to short. The first owner of the tiller must have cut it off.

Ivan sure do not want to rain on your parade but have you tried your quick attach on other implements? Like box blade, bush hog ect. I would sell one of those things and they would never fit all the implements. I do not know at the times I have seen folks buy one then end up taking it off and going back to quick attach ends or just regular three point. You realize on the tiller you will have to buy two sticks and replace the inner and outer to equal lengths.

It fits everything else. My inter tube was not cut but the outer tube I can see saw marks and it is not sq on the cut. It looks easy enough to change because according to the parts diagram it is just slipped and pined in the yoak. If not I have another way to fix it. If the price of the tube is to high I just replace the whole shaft. Thanks for the info on the hitch

Could you replace out the entire unit with an new shaft? Depending on what you're using, the shorter/lighter units aren/t that expensive.

I got one stock from TSC for my hayrake, solved a bunch of problems real fast.

I am going to town this morning and I am going to check them out at TSC and Farm and Home. I did find a supplier for the tube and he e mailed how they measure it.
