My cherry picker is parked under the garage extension. Found a feather stuck on a bolt then noticed twigs in the square tube. Pulled a few out and raised the arm to dump the rest and an egg rolled out.

I have had that problem the last few years, not enough room for the hoist in the shop. I just duct tape over the tubes. Just yesterday I opened the gas grill and found sticks like wrens use for nests on the grate. Might have to do the S,S,S on them.

We have "Cactus Wrens" here in the desert. Nasty little creatures; larger than a regular wren.

I love mine. Finished her 3rd year nesting in my old roll around tool box. Got her little imps raised and left. Will be back in the fall for another batch. She knows my presence is no threat to her including starting engines in the shop but if I get too close or try to peek inside she starts squaking.

Went out to take down an ( I thought) unused Bluebird house. Needed fixed as it had neither top nor bottom on it and it couldn't be in use, right? Got it off the fence post & carrying it away & 2 fledglings fell out & ran into the pasture. Cows had it mowed down close but the birds disappeared immediately, somehow. Figured it was better to walk away; maybe parents would raise'em on the ground. Hate it but farmers get in trouble no matter which way we turn.

Surprising how large an egg those tiny birds will lay. Same with bluebirds. Wrens are very aggressive. I went to a class for the county park's bluebird program the old guy giving the class said he'd seen wrens drive wood ducks out of a nesting box. I've had them trash chickadee nests.

I had wrens nest in exactly that kind of place on an implement sitting outside last summer. I just let it sit there until the nestlings had left.
