They came and planted our silage corn on Thursday evening/Friday,51 acres and we have 30 acres of barley in. One more field left ,40 acres and well be finished too. We only grow enough barley to feed our heifers and in the computer feeder ration,we buy complete to feed in the robot. Hoping to finish Tuesday as the limes not on yet. If you look closely on the tractor roof there's 2 22" led lights we just put on.

Isn't looking good for me to get the crop all in the ground before the end of May this year . Rained real hard here a few times and showered in between .
I usually try to start first cut around the 27th of May, not sure the fields will be fit to drive on before the first of June . The Hay just starts to get old after that.

Not sure about philip , but here in Ontario , the ground , and well water is full of lime . Putting lime on is some thing I have only just heard about , never seen anyone do it . Guess the soil ph is alright without added lime .

We just barely got a little window here this weekend. It finally stopped raining on Monday and we started Wednesday evening. More coming on Wednesday. How's your hay looking Bruce? Alfalfa on pei took a brutal beating this winter for the most part,

Our last field the ph is 5.8 and were needing 1/2 ton/acre to bring it up. It usually needs between 1/2-1 ton after its been traded out for potatoes if you want alfalfa to have a chance of surviving.
