Ferguson TO-20

This tractor (my father has always said) is a 1951 Ferguson, I assumed a TO-20. However when ordering a salvage TO-20 Front Axle Support bracket, I found it wasn't the right part. Sent pictures to the yard, they said they don't have any like that. Tractor has a Continental Z-120 engine, Marvel-Schebler carburetor, U.S. electrics (12 volt conversion). What can it be?

Is the transmission housing aluminum? If So, it may be a TE-20. There should be a plate on the dash with a stamped serial number. If no plate, post
this down on the Ferguson board, and the guys down there can help you with other features to look for.

This seems to be the same part or similar, guys says his is a Ford 8n, but also questioning it as unique.

World Wide Tractor parts says it is an aluminum transmission (I haven't tested it yet) and a Lucas starter, a tip-off that it is a TE-20. That means it's not a 1951 model and somebody in the family got snookered with an older tractor than they thought they were buying. Maybe that's why the data plate is missing.
