OT Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo Today

Took a six day weekend, tomorrow we start a road trip thru Iowa! Today we took the 4 year old granddaughter to the zoo.







 
Greg aren't we fortunate to live close to the best zoo in the USA. I love taking the grandkids there.
 

We went there last summer for the first time, great zoo all around, great old steam train engines also. Was our first time to Omaha, very nice city and friendly people.
 
The zoo is a great one. When we visit our daughter and SIL in Beemer we go to the zoo if it is good outside. Chad does farm broadcasting from West point, how many of you listen to his ag reports?
 
It's almost too much to see in one afternoon anymore. They are always upgrading it. Sounds like they are going to build a $20 million
Himalayan mountain exhibit. We got to see the new elephant digs last year. We love the aquarium, the monkey house, the big cats, the desert
dome and the tropical forest.
 
I looked up the website , next time we are ewer in Omaha need to go there , Brings back memories of the show Mutual of Omaha wild kingdom I couldn't wait for that show all week when I was a little guy
 
Loved that show to. Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler were the names I remember. Sometimes they would be on Jonny Carson and I would sneak out of bed to watch it.
 
Haven't been to the zoo in several years, but do live close to Beemer, have met Chad and listen to him some. Still wish the radio station was doing the tractor ride.
 
The wife and I are going to meet my Son and Daughter in law and the twins there on Memorial Day weekend. The girls will be 5 this July, and they really enjoy the zoo.
