I have a white 2-85 with a 354 Perkins diesel motor without a turbo. I had it hooked up to a swather I was working on,it was idling for about 45 minutes well to my dismay it was pumping oil into the muffler and back down on the block once I gave more rpms it quit. That motor has about 6600 hours on it. I am hoping I don't have some serious problems I was thinking it's probably scraper rings. Like I said it sounds find and oil pressure normal if anyone out there might have some advice would appreciate it.

Probably an event called "Wet stacking" at idle the carbon, and condensation in the exhaust, combine to
make a paste that looks like oil. It gets messy, but is no issue other than mess. If it seems fine,
that is probably the issue. Jim

Pretty sure you're right. I had a 4040 Deere that was famous for that. I have two of those 354s,I don't let them idle for an excessive period of time so I can't say they're prone to it,but I'd bet that's what's going on.

the engine at idle is cooled down and not at operating temp. the diesel is not completely burnt and makes a slobbering mess . it would be more of a problem on worn engines and injection systems not up to snuff. plus dont idle them under 1000-900 rpm. as with any diesel slow idling is no good for longer periods. plus that slobber will diute the engine oil and cause more wear. i got that 354 in my combine never slobbers.
