Bug in the system

Fighting an intermittent power issue, opened up the contactor to check the contacts. Found a smashed box elder bug right under one contact. Week ago my cub sputtered and stopped, found a box elder bug stuck in the fuel fitting. We have millions of them, and they seem to find their way into everything.

Yes we have box elder bugs at our place also. Sunny days they will swarm around the south entrance door. Its a bugger. lol gobble

Great!!! There's a relay/contactor/solenoid (why are there so many names for one thing?) in the cab of the CaseIH Magnum tractor. Mine will drive me nuts at times. I've replaced it, yet occasionally it still drops out. And when it does, the tractor dies. Apparently industry has forgotten what metals to use to make reliable contacts. Even without a bug to help!

Down here in Texas it's fire ants!

They are know for fouling electrical contacts. I think one finds his way in between, gets zapped, another comes to get the body, he gets it, 2 more come for those... Next thing you know the entire contactor is packed with dead ants!

AC units are their favorite. They started making sealed contactors, but still they find their way into them.
